[Automatic Pro Gold] Trips that start or end in an area get 'Unknown Address' for start and finish and do not appear on the map.

All of my long drives with my car are to go mountain biking in the woods, and often the parking lots do not have cellular coverage. It appears that this makes the trips show up as "Unknown Address" for both the start and the end of the trip on the dashboard and in the iOS app, and with nothing on the map. An example of this is the 2:19pm drive on Jan 15, 2017.

I'm ok not knowing an address, but it seems like the route should at least pick up/drop out where the cellular coverage ends instead of dropping out alltogether. Any ideas?

I'm going to export your post to our helpdesk system so Tech Support can take a look, ckdake. They'll be reaching out to you via email so please keep your eye out for an email from support@automatic.com or help@automatic.com. Mondays tend to be pretty backed so it may be a day or two before you hear back.

In the meantime, here are a few somewhat relevant FAQs. Although, it sounds like what you're experiencing is not what's expected. If you're not seeing any route data at all, that sounds like you're not getting GPS data points. But again, Tech Support would know better than I about that.

What happens if there is no cellular coverage while using Automatic Pro?

Thanks!  It does seem that I'm not getting GPS data points, but because it works essentially 100% of the time for trips of any length other than ones that start or end in a location with no cell coverage, something strange may be happening. I'll keep my eyes out for the support ticket.

You're welcome. I just heard that a new issue may have been identified in which trips that get uploaded later are not getting all their data synced. This might be what you're running into but Tech Support should know for sure.

Hi ckdake. The new firmware to address this is rolling out now. It's being pushed to you this afternoon and should resolve any future route issues. Thanks for your patience as the engineering team worked to resolve this!
