I keep getting this notification on Android: "Connected to improve route accuracy".

The car isn't anywhere near me so I'm not sure how it's connecting to my android phone.

Hi Dan. I've reported this to an Android developer. I'll let you know what he says.

Hi Dan. We've got a couple questions as we're looking into this:

1. Was someone else driving your car when you received that notification?

2. Had you taken any trips that day?

1) Yes, my car was being driven that day by someone else who was hundreds of miles away. The car lost cell connection during the drive also.
2) I believe I hadn't taken a trip for that day when I noticed the alert. I did take a trip later on that day though.

Thanks for that info, Dan. One of our Android developers knows what's going on and is going to explain it here as soon as he has a moment.

Hi Dan,

Thanks for reporting this--the message displayed is indeed a bit misleading.  The reason you may see that notification when your car is being driven but you're not in it is because of how we connect to the phone.  When your car starts, anywhere it is, Automatic tells your phone to spin up the app in the background and wait for the adapter to connect, which it does--unless you're not in it.  In that case, to avoid polling your location, which would adversely affect your phone's battery life, we wait a period of time before shutting down.  Because Android requires that a notification be shown for background processes, you see the notification.

Long story short, we are aware of this issue and are investigating ways to minimize the amount of time we wait for the connection, such that you won't see the notification for as long as currently.

I just started getting this message recently. What is really annoying is it pops up as a notification, with sound, when the car leaves in the morning and I'm still asleep. How can I turn this notification off? From the description it seems completely useless anyways.

Derrick, it is really annoying for my phone (which was not even used to pair with the Automatic adapter in the first place) to have a process running in the background waiting for a connection. Please add an option for me to use my Android App just for monitoring or checking on the vehicle location/status.
This notification thing just started happening over the last few days, must have been part of the latest update to the App. Again, it is not the notification itself that is wrong. I do not want my phone (which is not paired with the Adapter) to have anything running in the background.
Thanks for taking our feedback to the Developers.

I have also been getting this notification. I park my car in an underground apartment garage, which blocks my adapter from having a cell connection. My android phone shows this all day long while parked there. I can't dismiss the message. Please inform me when this difficulty is corrected.
