Ability to visualize your speed along a route.

I would love the ability to be able to review my speed along a given route. This would allow us to fine tune our driving routes and possibly cut out slow spots.

And... The real reason I'm requesting this is that I was erroneously pulled over for speeding. (The officer misidentified my car for one that ripped past me at about double my speed!), thankfully he didn't give me a ticket. wow... Anyways it would be great to be able to have hard proof of our speed along a route.

It would seem that our speed is already being captured, why not save it at a given interval and include it somewhere in the interface or simply provide it as exportable data.

Awesome work so far!

Hey Matt,

Thanks for the feedback!

This is something that has been shared before and we've marked as under consideration. Such a feature isn't currently within our product plans, but we definitely understand the desire for speed logs so we will continue to put it under consideration as we further develop Automatic.

Thanks again!

There is a log with the download. I assume that this has something to do with the track that you publish. That track, if it includes time, provides an average speed. But, as downloaded, it is a indecipherable string of alphanumeric characters. How can we make use of them?

Hi Rob,
I just wrote a response to your question in https://community.automatic.com/automatic/topics/does-anyone-know-how-to-decode-the-path-from-an-exp...
Hope that helps!

Thanks for the response Jerry! I'll be looking into this trip data to see if I can extract the requested data. I may even write an open source application to parse out some of the data or provide other visualizations.

I agree there should be real time speed tracking.

I keep seeing all these people asking for it in different parts of this forum, and the same reply in numerous places, "Such a feature isn't currently within our product plans". I wonder what it takes to get something on the product roadmap - a Presidential order from the White House?

Bump. Just got a ticket and thought Automatic would have helped me fight the speed that was claimed. Guess not.

Hi Jonathan. You can email support@automatic.com. Customer Care may be able to get that data for you.
