Hi. Is there a way to add a custom field to the IFTTT recipe when exporting to google drive spreadsheet? Specifically trying to add a id or key field. I tried editing the recipie and adding {{=RAND()*100000}} but haven't tested it. There is a message that says "Unrecognized Ingredient"

I don't think that IFTTT supports custom fields in recipes. You can always add additional fields to the google doc once it is created.

Thanks. I've done this. Actually I export the raw rows from google to my excel file that I built. Then I have a dashboard built that logs automatically the following. I've also built in a "what if" calculator to run various distance scenarios to see what I might expect.

If I could post my excel file somewhere I'm happy to share it.

If you want to share your spreadsheet publicly, you could upload it to https://cloudup.com/ and post the link here.

Hi. I uploaded a sample (draft) dashboard that I'm working on below.

I am not sure about custom ingrediant per-se (in the sense of creating alias for functions), but IFTTT definitly supports functions, for instance if you want the duration over 70 but in minutes put the following betweenÂ

||| =ROUND({{DurationOver70MPH}} /60,2) |||

this also works with functions, and google finance calls

eg. I am canadian, and wanted to see liters spent, so I added this:

|||=ROUND({{FuelVolumeGal}} *3.78541,2) |||

here, is the call to convert USD amount to CAD (note you have to remove the "$" first so google will interpret it as a number, and be able to do math with it.

||| ="$"&ROUND(SUBSTITUTE("{{FuelCostUSD}}","$","",1) *GoogleFinance("CURRENCY:USDCAD"),2) |||

---

or if you want to take it one step further, and input how much your local gas cost (either because you use a different grade, or want to use the price at your exact pump... use this (this one is for Canadian measures, canadian dollars:

|||="$"&ROUND(({{FuelVolumeGal}} *3.78541)*1.014,2) |||

where you would substitute the 1.014, for your fill up price (for me it was $1.014 per liter'.

I am going to publish my recipe from IFTTT tonight, if anyone is interested in my Canadian one.

The above method should work in IFTTT & Google Drive with any of the functions listed here:
