Since our initial iOS launch, our Android team has been hard at work building a custom Android app. We’re happy to announce the public launch of Android!

We’re calling this version 0.9 as we want to take a bit more time to refine Crash Alert. We expect to deliver Crash Alert by late Spring / early Summer. Otherwise, this app includes all the features of the iOS 1.0 app. Over the coming months we’ll continue to develop features to bring it up to parity with the current iOS app and will even keep our eye out for cool features and functionality that we can offer that are unique to the Android platform.

The current version of the Android App includes:

  • Parking Locator

  • Check Engine Light feature

  • Drive Score with fuel efficiency insights

  • Trip data

  • Support for multiple vehicles & multiple users

You can download the app in the Google Play Store.

You can read more about it on our blog.

This release is just the beginning! We look forward to bringing you new features and functionality in the months and years to come!

If you've been in our Android Beta, it's time to get this production version or ask us about our Alpha program. We'll be shutting the Beta Google Group down very soon. Thanks!

UPDATE 4/14/14: 0.9.1

Includes

  • Added workaround for major WiFi / Bluetooth interference issue

  • Increased reliability on 4.4+ devices via background service notification & made optional via new Settings switch.

  • Fix issue with trips / debug data not showing up

  • Relaxed Manifest rules for varying screen densities and sizes

  • Various bug fixes

Please update your app. Also, it's best to set your app to auto-update so you always have the latest version for the best experience.

Guys, I'm working outside US for a short assignation and my dongle was shipped oversee where I am. Just noted that I cannot download the application for Android outside US, please let me know what to do. I have been waiting for this over 2 years now.

Hi Antonio, unfortunately the app is available to US users only. If you can gain access to the US store, you should be able to get the app.

I cannot download the application at all. It does not appear in the Google Play store. I have a pretty new phone, a Samsung Galaxy S3.

Sorry to hear you didn't find the app. I had a look at your account and it appears you've recorded at least one trip earlier today, were you able to get it working? Let me know if you're still having trouble.

So I just got my Automatic Link on Tue 8th - Today tried to get the app for install on my Samsung Galaxy Note (Tmobile). Eventually found it but it isn't compatible with my phone. The app states Android 4.0 and above and my Galaxy Note is 4.0.4 so any idea on what can be done here?

Been waiting for this since i placed my order back in Oct 13. Finally get the devices and now cannot get the app on my phone...haven't tried my wife's phone yet but I'm certain hers is at the same version 4.0.4

I'm in the US - Las Vegas, NV. When I goto the play store it says my device isn't compatible.

Does it matter that my phone is rooted? Normally that doesn't cause issues with normal apps installing.

Hi Philip. Apologies for the delay. So just to clarify, the Play Store says your device isn't compatible and doesn't allow you to install it? Is your DPI / resolution different than the default? If so, that could have affected the ability to install the app. However, we just pushed a 0.9.1 release today that relaxed the Manifest rules around DPI & screen sizes so if that was the issue, it should work now. Let us know!

I have the Google Nexus 5 and I purchased your product from Best Buy. I plugged it into my 2010 Subaru Forester and heard the beep but when I enter the numbers it just attempts to connect and then eventually says unable to connect send report. Is this a known issue? Please let me know. I've been waiting for months to use this product and finally got one. I purchased one for me and one for my wife who uses the iPhone 4S
