For that feature alone, I'd buy this for my son's car. Might move him to Android just for this...

The features isn't being implemented because Automatic doesn't want to implement it. Apple does not let apps (other than it's own) mess with "important" phone settings.  This is called sandboxing, and it's one of the many things Apple does to keep users "safe" from malicious apps. It's completely unnecessary and burdensome in almost all cases.

In the end it comes down to the classic Apple vs. PC argument. Apple products are pretty, but if you want to get creative with what they can do you're out of luck unless you dive really deep. Non-apple products aren't as pretty but, you can do pretty much whatever you want with them.

If you want this feature you should petition apple for it.  I'm sure someone will be along shortly with the link.

Hi Jim,

Thanks for sharing your question with us, and welcome to the Automatic community! As Nathan pointed out, this is a limit imposed by Apple at the OS level, as no other apps (but the user/iOS itself) can enable DND mode. While we cannot add something like what you've described at this time, it's worth contacting Apple and submitting your feature request to be considered in the future.

I hope this helps answer your question, and please let us know if you have any others in the future – we're always happy to assist. :)

Hello - we are looking to utilize this for our teen driver but are really interested in the "do not disturb" feature.  Has Apple changed to allow this?  And, is there a way to configure the phone itself - as the user - to allow this separate from the License+?

Hi Lori,

Welcome to the Community! Unfortunately Apple hasn't moved an inch on this so it's still not possible for us to implement. As for configuring the phone, if you swipe up on the main screen and tap on the crescent moon, that is Do Not Disturb.

I hope this helps, please let us know if you have any other questions.
