Awesome device...just wish Automatic knew me on upgrade

I purchased two 1st gen devices, work great and I love them and the concept. I get an email this week saying we have a new Dashboard app, works on gen 2 equipment, lo and behold, there is no upgrade path, got to buy new devices, which I did after googling the loyalty program, but you can only buy one at a time...I don't mind spending money, just make it easier and pretend you know me and love me

I feel much the same way.  

I bought my 1st gen hardware on a solicitation from the TidBITS listserv less than a month ago.  I was offered (and took) a $20 discount to buy hardware that was to be obsoleted within a month.  While I am happy with the basic functionality I have, I feel that I was suckered into buying hardware that was going to be superseded within days of my purchase without any heads-up.  Unless Automatic is willing to give a substantial credit on return of my old hardware (≥50%) towards the new one, I will not recommend the product to my clients nor will I participate in future development feedback. I also will advise TidBITS of the situation.

Sorry, guys.  Bad marketing decision.
