Just got my adapter. Tried it for the first time this morning. (2012 Hyundai Accent/Samsung Galaxy S6) The adapter seems to be set up, and it recognized my entire trip including hard brakes, accelerations, and minutes over 70 mph. However, it didn't beep at me any of those times during my drive. I even purposely went over 70 to see if it would, but no beep.

I checked my audio alert settings, and they are all set to "on." Any ideas as to why it's not beeping?

It is not a real loud beep. And there have been complaints about how quiet it is. Support mentioned that the 2nd generation does not have vent holes in it for better performance in cold areas.  Again the notification is not really loud.  Also take into consideration where your ODB plug is. If it is not out in the open it would have to be even louder to hear it.  I am sure someone else will give you better information. Mine beeps and it is too sensitive with acceleration, I wish I didn't hear it sometimes:)

Well, fortunately (or unfortunately) I can't put the panel back on once the adapter is plugged in. So it's right near my left knee out in the open. I even turned my stereo volume down when I knew I was about to go over 70 mph, but I still didn't hear it.

Too bad you can't trigger sound tests from the app. Sounds like a product improvement request. Maybe support can help you. they are pretty good.

Hey Kim,

Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the Automatic Community!

As Bryan mentioned, some users have reported the adapter being too quiet. This is something that our team is continuing to look into, as it isn't the same with all users.

Since you are hearing the initial beep when starting a trip, I recommend taking a few more trips to see if you start to hear any. The easiest one to test is the 70mph alert, since that is something you can really control, but obviously only do so in the right conditions :D If you continue to not hear any beep, please feel free to contact our tech support team by emailing help@automatic.com.
