How is the Automatic Pro powered, and can it drain my car battery to dead over time? If so, how often and for how long should the car be driven to keep the car battery charged?

Hi, you say it draws less than 5.5mA from the battery. I live in NYC and might not drive my car for weeks. How much time does the 5.5mA give me?

Hi Kevin,

As the FAQ mentions, if you aren't going to drive your car for more than a few days, unplug the adapter to avoid a dead battery. There isn't a way to determine a length of time, and we don't want you stranded!

What if you drive your car only a few miles once a day or remote start it in the morning on the days you're not driving?

Hi Frank,

Driving your car or starting it and letting it run both charge your battery, so that would be fine.

I just got my device set up and it ran my battery down.. we got it jumped and it wouldn’t charge.. I unplugged the device and it charged.. I turned the car off, plugged the device in and it drained my battery.. unplugged the device, jumped my car and it started right up.. wonder what the problem is?
