Yes! You can use up to 5 cars with Automatic. Ideally, each car should have their own adapter, otherwise, you will need to go through setup every time you switch the car that the adapter is in (more on this below).

In the app, each car has its own trip timeline, parking location, and “check engine light” screen. To switch between your cars, just tap or swipe down on the cars name at the top of the screen.

If you'd like to add additional cars, open the Automatic app and select the Settings button (top right corner of the app). Once there, scroll down and select Set up another car... and go through the set up steps. Once complete, you will see the new car under your other car(s) in the app.

Remember, the adapter will only work with one car at a time, so if you need to move the adapter back to your old car or back and forth between cars, you’ll have to reconnect your adapter every time it’s moved. To reconnect, tap on the “Replace/Reconnect Adapter” link in the Settings menu of the app.

Important note: if you move the adapter back and forth between multiple cars, please do not delete these cars from the app. Opting to remove the car will result in the loss of data.

For Pro adapters:
Pro only supports one user account per adapter & car combo. That user account can set up on multiple cars. But as the Pro experience is vehicle-centric, all users can share an account.

For Gen 1 & Gen 2 adapters:
If you're sharing a car or multiple cars with one or more people who are also using Automatic, everyone should create their own Automatic account and run through Setup on the car(s) they'll be driving*. Sharing an account can, even while driving different cars, can cause issues and result in trip capture issues.

*Automatic 1st Generation users: If you are sharing an account with others (which we don't recommend) or personally use two different phones (one iOS and one Android) from a single account, at  this time you must be on the same phone platform - iPhone or Android.
