The car is parked in a garage where cell coverage cannot get in. If the car sits say for 5 days, when my wife leaves the garage, the Automatic does not know the car has started up and left the garage and it does not pick it up once the car gets cell coverage. It will only pick it up when she stops somewhere, shuts off the car and then gets back in for a second trip and then it works fine. This happens every time. What it seems to me, being a internet programmer, if the car can't see cell coverage after it starts, it seems to go into sleep mode and does not try to reacquire the cell coverage again until the car shuts off and is started up again.

Hi Brian - I'm asking for clarification from an engineer on what the expected behavior is in that scenario. Here's our FAQ on the issue but it doesn't seem to reflect quite what you're experiencing.

Hi Brian- is the account under your email address? I found an account for you but I'm not sure if your wife has a different account? An engineer is going to take a look at the logs. He says this is not expected behavior.

The account is under my email - blc - I tried all day to get into this room. Must have been a problem - Here is info from yesterday and today - During that first drive in 5 days, the Adapter does know what is happening, but it nevers contacts the server during that drive, so no "car driving" message is on the App and the car shows no location on the App or the desktop. When that drive is over and she parks, it states it can't "contact the server" (on the APP) even though she's in a strong cell footprint. Not contacting the server is key what what I see here.
Today we have the same scenario, but the car is only parked in the garage for 13 hours. She starts up and goes out of the garage, the adapter now picks up the cell service and all is normal during that first trip of the day. What's the difference between yesterday and today - the car was parked in garage without cell service for 5 days

Thanks for the additional info, Brian. I've shared it with the engineer who will investigate this.

Hi Brian. I've confirmed that this is not expected behavior. An engineer looked into your logs and says that he thinks it was just some intermittent network issues. Please let us know if it happens again on a consistent basis.

I have a similar problem being that I have covered parking both at home and the office. My Automatic seldom ever detects ignition/driving unless the car has been parked outdoor for some time. I typically get days of activities uploaded periodically. I haven't had time to work out the pattern but I seldom get real-time update.

The one notable data point was a trip to the airport where my wife dropped me for my flight. The path that she took home was totally missing. The data after I disembarked at the airport shows an as-the-crow-flies path from the airport back to home.

Hi George, As I mentioned in your other post, you're likely running into this issue because you're using Pro in Vancouver, CA so it's expected that functionality would be intermittent if existent at all. Sorry I don't have better news for you.
