My father has the Automatic on his Hyundai. I like it but it bothers me that it's always using the phone's GPS work properly. Does the news Pro now have a built-in GPS receiver, so that the iPhone app no longer use the GPS and chews up the battery? Thanks, Chris

Hi, Chris. No, the Automatic Pro does not rely on the phone's GPS to capture the trip, though it will help make the exact route mapped more accurate. But with Automatic Pro, your dad could drive the car without any phone and the adapter would still capture the trip in real time which would be viewable from any phone logged into his account in the Automatic app. Additionally, Crash Alert will work regardless of a phone being present. The only requirement is that he's driving within cellular range of the 3G network the adapter uses (Telefonica which piggybacks on AT&T / T-Mobile).
