Right now, I can have 'Started Driving'/'Parked' notifications on or off.

I would like one more level to that, when the pair phone is in range of the adapter.

I don't see the app popping up telling me that I am driving my own car, or when I park. The push notifications can sometimes disrupt my bluetooth connection, as well as fill up my lock screen with stuff I have to constantly clear out.

I only wish to be notified that the car is started or parked when I am not near it. Kinda like a cheap LoJack. And when I have the car in the shop for service, when I have it valet parked, or someone else borrows it. It is nice to see the notifications at that point in time for safety/security.

Yeah, we've heard this request and have been chatting about it. Thanks for adding it here!

Until then, can't you just keep the notifications off until or unless you give your car to someone at which time you can turn on notifications?

Yes, can do that. Just extra steps :)

Well, I understand that.  I think for a long while, we will have to get by as a community with extra steps as they do listen to all our "Great ideas", but seem very slow to implement ideas into upgrades.  By the way, have you gone to the Labs section under the dashboard above?  Some of your questions regarding mapping and tracking of trips may he addressed in some of the apps shown there.

We do our best with a surprisingly small team, Bill. :) We also have to consider other needs & requirements along with the ideas suggested here in our community

Hi Amy,

I get it.  Listen, I purchased the Automatic Pro (after buying and returning the original) because it is really the best bang for the buck on the market; crash notification and free 3g connection for at least several years, so I do understand that a result of that, you do not have the luxury of having a large staff.   You guys have put together a very affordable device, and have a decent amount of programming already in place.  I'm sorry my "slow to implement" comment may seem to have sounded like a complaint,  but just pointing out reality.  All things considered, and the complexity of making all people happy with the vast array of phones and vehicles you have to address, you guys are doing a great job.  I bought this device so I know where my cars are and because of the crash notification, again without a hefty annual charge, and to that end, you are a success for me.  Others, who need to track fleets of like vehicles that are the same year and same model, whose needs aren't addressed by this should maybe consider an alternative more costly solution.  While I have 2 cars of the same year and model, so it's hard to discern which one I'm looking at, I figure it out.  You will fix that one day.

The interface with ITTT, the dashboard, the apps, the Lab tab and it's apps, driving score with 70mph hard coded, hard braking, acceleration issues notwithstanding, are all great add-ons, with or without their problems.  There are some great suggestions made by the community, that if and when implemented will make the product even better...  I can live with having to manually enter in my fill-ups or turning on or off notifications if it means keeping the other things free.

Finally Amy, there are way too many communities out there where the vendor hardly ever responds so the users feel unheard or appreciated.  You have been stellar in responding to almost every post that is on this board, and given the limited resources you have to work with, you get the highest kudos from me.

Happy Holidays to you and the staff at Automatic.

Thanks very much, Bill. I really appreciate you taking the time to clarify and share your thoughts. I admit that I did take it as a lightly veiled jab. I'm all for feedback and even productive criticism and generally avoid getting defensive but when it feels like personal criticism against our team I can get protective because I know how talented they are, how hard they work, how much they care about our customers and building a quality product and experience. I also know how limited our resources are.

I particularly appreciate the acknowledgement that we are unusually responsive in and to our community, considering our size and compared to so many other companies out there! This community is incredibly valuable to us and we do work hard to make it a productive and responsive place. :)

Happy Holidays to you as well!
