Different levels of diagnostics codes:
1. Severe error and can cause vehicle damage, pull over and turn off vehicle.
2. Error is a problem, but can drive to a location before seeking repair.
3. Error is a problem, but service car at earliest convenience.

There were comments about integrating tow / mechanics recommendation based on the location where you are when you have a severe error, which would be ideal in this kind of situation. Also this might be hard to do without the vendor specific codes, but the generic codes can be a starting point.

I really like the idea of having different "levels" of severity surrounding "Check Engine" light codes, thanks Ulises. I'll share your idea with our product team. As you mentioned, currently Automatic can only read and interpret generic "P" class OBD II codes, which are strictly related to emissions issues. We can, however, read *some* manufacturer-specific engine codes (but we can't interpret them). For those who would like to read more on this topic, be sure to check out this FAQ.

Hi again, Ulises. Our product team discussed your idea earlier today, and this isn't a feature we're planning to develop for the time being. For this reason, we've changed the status of this topic as "not planned."

Having said that, there's potential for many 3rd-party integrations further down the road which could offer this feature or something very similar to it. Stay tuned!
