I purchased Automatic recently, intending to be able to track my husband's car. He has Parkinson's Disease and sometimes forgets where he parked, or gets lost driving. He is also hearing impaired so cannot use a GPS device. I want to be able to find his car and help him navigate back to where he is familiar with the road, and able to drive home. Is the range of the Automatic device such that I can pair it with my cell phone but have the Automatic device in his vehicle? It does not appear so. Thanks.

Hi Karen,

Thank you for reaching out and for looking at Automatic as a solution to your situation.

Unfortunately, the current capabilities of Automatic likely won't be able to fulfill what you are looking to accomplish. The phone connected to the adapter must be present in the car. Also, I'd say your biggest need—the ability to track a vehicle while it is in motion—is not a current feature of Automatic. While you would be able to find the parking location of the car, that would only be possible if the driver also had Automatic setup on their device and was connected to the adapter at the conclusion of the trip. It wouldn't provide the new location of the car until the conclusion of that trip.

I am sorry if there was any misunderstanding in the capabilities of the product. While this isn't something that Automatic currently offers, it is always helpful to hear what types of features may help users in their particular circumstances.

If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.
