Hey Siri, where's my car?

When will I be able to ask Siri where my car is parked? I recently heard that Automatic will support the Amazon Echo device for this voice command in question, but why has Siri been overlooked so far?

Hi Joel,

Thanks for reaching out and for the idea!

Unfortunately, Siri isn't open to developers like Amazon Echo is. While we'd love to add the same functionality to a product like Siri, we simply can't due to the restrictions placed there by Apple. If they ever open it up, we'd definitely consider it :)

How about making the Automatic a HomeKit compatible device? Wouldn't that allow Siri to tell me where my car is parked?

Hey Joel,

Thanks for getting back.

Not sure if Homekit would be a solution here.

The way the Amazon Echo feature works is that you are connecting your Automatic account to Echo, thus Echo pulls the data from our servers. It doesn't have to do with information being relayed from the adapter in present time, since information cannot be read from the adapter without a phone currently connected.

We will definitely keep looking into other options, as well if Apple ever opens up Siri to a greater extent.
