NOTE: This FAQ pertains to the 1st & 2nd generation Automatic adapters only. Updated 4/2017.

Trip tagging for business is now supported in v2.7+ of the iOS app and v1.7+ of the Android app.

Tagging a trip within the app is easy:
1. Once a trip appears in the trip timeline, simply tap on it to view the trip summary.
2. At the bottom of this screen, tap on the “Business” button in order to tag the trip. Right now, you can only tag trips with “Business”, but we are planning to add more options in a future update to the app.

The iOS app also gives you the option of activating end-of-trip notifications for trip tagging. When this setting is turned on, you’ll receive a notification prompting you to tag a trip as “Business.” If you swipe left on the notification from the Notifications menu on your iPhone, you will see the option to tag the trip. Otherwise, tapping on the notification will display the trip within the Automatic app. You can toggle this feature on/off by navigating to Settings → Trip Tagging. If you own an Apple Watch and would like to receive notifications on it, be sure that this setting is enabled.

You can also view and export tagged trips by using the web dashboard. As of March 2017, you can also tag trips as business in the Web Dashboard. Trips must be tagged in the app or on the Web Dashboard within one year of the date of the trip. You will be unable to tag trips older than one year.
