Hyundai Elantra obd for installation

I am trying to install my automatic pro on a hyundai elantra 2012. However, i found that the obd is under a sealed compartment. If I put the automatic pro, I cannot close the compartment and it will be very obvious that I have it installed in my car ( defeating the purpose of having it to trace my car during theft). Is there any other way to discreetly install the automatic pro for elantra 2012?

You could use something like this: http://a.co/36Fn2x6

I have one for each of my cars. Lets me plug the device in and then tuck it up behind the dash, hidden away. Works great in my '12 Kia Soul and '16 Mazda 3.

Hi Nathalia,
Car manufacturers are required to place the OBD-II port within a certain distance from the steering wheel but unfortunately, there's nothing stating that they have to make it convenient to use! We designed our adapter to be as out of the way as possible but some car manufacturers didn't exactly have products like ours in mind when deciding where to place the OBD-II port.

That said, while it is officially unsupported, we do have some users that have had some success with an extension cable. If you go this route, please make sure to secure the adapter down as well as possible. It could erroneously trigger Crash Alert if it bounces around.

I hope this helps!
