I got an adapter from my friend. The serial # is : L2AASC1001267. FCC ID: 2AAC6-A10. Is it first or second generation?

1st gens only have numbers in the serial#. 2nd gens have both numbers and letters.

Hey Georg,

Thanks for reaching out. Also, thanks for chiming in Soccer Cat.

To clear up any confusion, the PIN on the back of the device will only be numbers for a first generation Automatic and will have a combination of letters/numbers for a 2nd generation adapter.

Here is an example of a 2nd generation adapter:


The other major difference between the two is that the 1st generation adapter has a hexagonal-like shaped speaker on the back.
