I have two vehicles on my Automatic and just realized that it has been compiling data to the wrong vehicle. I just assumed it would know which vehicle I was in. Is there a way to move recorded data from one vehicle to another?

Hey Steve,

Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the Automatic Community.

At this time, there isn't a way to move data from one vehicle to the other.

Unfortunately, it sounds like the issue you've run into is something that occurs if you are using the same adapter in two different cars. While you can absolutely do this, we highly recommend that you have an adapter for each vehicle. This is because each time you switch the adapter into the other car, you will need to go through setup again.

You can find more information on this at the following FAQ.

"Remember, the adapter will only work with one car at a time so if you need to move it back to your old car or back and forth between cars, you’ll have to reconnect your adapter every time it’s moved."

If you didn't take this step when you switched to the other vehicle, the trips would then be recorded as the last vehicle that the adapter was set up in.

I just had this same issue; I spent a lot of time in the app trying to figure out how to change the vehicle the data would be associated with, all to no avail. While I realize it would be complex to set up a tool for users to migrate data from one vehicle to the next; you should build something to enable your customer support team to do something like that. In my case, I have very specific time stamps I can provide, between which the data should be moved to another vehicle.

Sorry to hear you experiencing the same issue, JGG.

As mentioned above, there isn't a way at this time for us to move the data from one car to another. I will provide this feedback to our development team, but at this time, there are some bigger priorities and this would be a complex tool to build.
