The car repair industry is so backwards.
When I wanted to get the repair records for my most recent used car, I had to take it into the dealer, provide proof of ownership, and then they printed me a stack of paper. Paper! And this was a Mercedes dealer. Crazy.
It would be interesting to partner with a select group of car companies. When you have service or maintenance done at the dealer, the records from that should just appear in the app. No manual data entry needed (unlike TrueDelta or My Carfax).
There are a number of reasons this would be valuable:
+ Aggregating repair costs on a per-year/per-mileage basis
+ Seeing what items have been repaired in the past, and which items are nearing the end of their service life
+ Being reminded of repairs that the mechanic spotted in the last inspection
+ Price comparison of repairs based on what the dealer quoted
I would absolutely buy this as a separate add-on to the basic Automatic experience.
