Hi Jodi. Possibly but only if the mechanic takes it for a test drive and intentionally slams on your brakes. It's probably best to just remove the adapter before taking your car in for service, though. I'm not making any negative assumptions about your mechanic but we have heard of some folks "losing" their adapters after their car was worked on.
When you get your car back, you can just plug back in firmly and you'll be good to go!
