Today we published version 0.9.5 of the Automatic app for iPhone. You can download it in the App Store. This release fixes a bug found in 0.9.4, which was released a few days ago. This update covers both 0.9.4 and 0.9.5.

Important: Launch the app at least once after updating to make sure it catches your trips.

New Features

  • Persistent notification to remind you that Bluetooth and Location services are required for Automatic to work.

  • Trip selection in your timeline when reporting a problem with a trip instead of setting the time of the trip manually.

  • A new "Missing a trip?" section that explain how trip capturing works and what
  • you can do if a trip you took is missing.

Improvements

  • More robust support for using Automatic with multiple cars and multiple Links

  • Improved trip capture reliability

  • Improved Bluetooth connection reliability with the Link

  • Various other UI improvements and bug fixes

Since updating to this version of the app, the app does not capture trips or engine light status and always comes up with a message that says "Oh No! There is an error with Automatic's servers. Our engineers are aware of the problem and are working to fix it right now. Please try again shortly. I have deleted and reinstalled the app and the problem does not go away.

If you are using bluetooth in the car (Ford Sync) will Automatic still work as I think only one connection to bluetooth is possible?

Automatic should work in conjunction with other Bluetooth devices.
