I'll start. Mine was a very used red 1976 Dodge Colt that my dad bought off a mechanic friend who'd gotten it running again. I was 17 and it was my high school graduation present. But I didn't have my license yet so the whole summer after graduation, my best friend had to drive me around in it. I loved that car.

I had a black, salvage title, 1988 Honda Civic DX that had a fist sized hole in the muffler. I bought it from a sketchy guy in Honolulu. I was 15 and I did not have a license, but I drove it anyway. That car was indestructible, I drove it through a two foot deep puddle in a tropical storm, and it was fine.

'77 Rabbit at 16.

This was a car that my parents had bought new, and made them swear they'd never buy another VW. They gave it to my aunt and uncle, who retaliated by giving it to me when I turned 16.

It was originally off-white, but had been resprayed a nice charcoal metallic. The clearcoat peeled almost immediately, so the car was almost exactly the color and texture of smooth asphalt.

My buddies were always threatening to paint a double yellow line down the center. ;)

So many things wrong with Mk. I's, but I had a blast in that thing as long as it lasted.

I imported a 1991 Honda Integra from Japan when I was 18. Took 3 months to arrive and make it through customs / road worthiness, during which time they crashed it into another car. Was a great machine though, kept it for 7 years before I left the country.

When I turned 16 I got a red 1990 Nissan 240SX hatchback. Manual transmission. Paid for it by working at Taco Bell for a year and mowing lots of lawns. Loved that car!!

65 Mustang, My dad surprised me with it when I turned 17. I had no idea at the time what a great car it was.
