Hello Automatic community , I am awaiting my pre-order currently.

I have a manual transmission car and think it would be great if the Automatic App could tell you the best shift points for different driving goals.

Goals could be speed or efficiency related.

This could be a cool thing to view in an automatic transmission car and could prove useful in cars that have Tiptronic which is becoming more and more popular.

This may be good for Automatic as a company to gain some customers from the car enthusiast market segment.

Car enthusiasts love this type of data and are willing to spend money on components.

Looking forward to my pre-order :)

Thanks & Good luck,
Danny

Looking at android tachpro I find they have all the functionalities I am looking hope in the future I can come back to you guys... Gonna need to return my new automatic and get the cheap stuffs for now :( no really happy about it.

This is too bad that it seems like you are not considering this and loosing a customer.

Thanks for chiming in, Peter. While we don't have plans to implement a shift points feature into our app, we are exploring ways for 3rd party developers to access our hardware. This means that such a feature may come to fruition later down the road. Stay tuned!

I really think for fuel efficiency add Shift Points would be very helpful. It seems from this Thread the data is there in the OBD II port, I still think your product has a bunch of other benefits but I really would like this feature if it were added.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Manual cars need shift points.

Manual cars don't have the luxury of a computer that know the most fuel efficient times to shift. It would be handy to have the adapter beep at us when we are at an optimal shift range based on rpm though.

When it comes to driving a manual you will never get the same shift twice. What you can get though is data. If someone constantly revs too high then you can deduct from their score because more Revs means more gas consumption.

This has a real possibility of helping the environment too. Manual cars weigh less than automatic counterparts. We also have more control of our cars. So knowing where the best place to shift for fuel economy would be marvelous.

Hey Simon,

Long time no see ;)

As I mentioned, I added your idea to an existing post in the community.

At this time, adding such a feature is not planned but our team is always exploring in-house and third party options for features that our community is interested in.

While at this time this idea isn't planned, that can change if we end up coming across something that could make it happen.

Thanks, and keep the ideas coming!
