I have an extended question. I have an Automatic in my car and the app on my phone. My mother has an Automatic in her car and the app on her phone. We just purchased a third car together. If we put an Automatic into that car can we both use the existing apps on our phones?

Hi there, Deejay. You can connect up to 5 cars to your Automatic account, so you can definitely use the Automatic app that's already on your phone.

Are you planning to purchase a new Automatic adapter for the new car? If so, once you receive the adapter, you and your mother will just need to run through the setup process on each of your Automatic accounts. The only caveat is that if you plan to use a 1st generation adapter with the new car, you and your mother will need to be on the same phone platform (both iOS or both Android). The 1st generation adapter doesn't officially support cross-platform use at this time, but once we release firmware version 1.0, this restriction will no longer apply. If, however, you use a 2nd generation adapter, cross-platform use is fully supported. Here's a link to a related FAQ.

Let me know if I can clarify anything else.
