My Pro isn't automatically reconnecting once cell service is regained.

Traveling through an area without cell service on two different days, my brand new Pro (IOS) naturally lost cell sync. However, it did not automatically reconnect once cell service was regained. It finally reconnected when I started the car each following morning. Why is this happening?
