It would be more consistent to allow the naming of brief stops when expanding a trip's route.

Hi jakimo. Thanks for the suggestion. You can actually do this now but it's a little bit of a work-around. Go into your user settings and toggle the "Brief Stops" feature off. Go back to your trip timeline, find the stop(s) you want to rename and do so. Then go back to user settings and toggle "Brief Stops" back on. The brief stops will now have the assigned names.

I discovered that brief stops can also be labeled, if you do it while you are at the brief stop ! Thanks for this trick though - helpful to go back and label those I had not done.

I don't have time to label short stops - they are very short. I would like for automatic to segment tips, or define them, when I put the car in park.
I drive for lyft/uber. The engine is left running, but the transmission is always put in park at the beginning and end of rides.

Hi David,

Thanks for sharing your input. While the Automatic adapter can detect "ignition on/off", unfortunately it cannot detect which gear your car is in. That said, you're welcome to disable the "brief stops" feature in the Automatic app settings, which will treat these as individual trips as a result.

Please let me know if this helps answer your question or not, I'd be happy to explain in more detail if necessary. :)
