I'd like to always know where my teen driver is without manually permitting live tracking every 24 hours. Can this be done?

Hi Bill
Not sure your question is clear because the Automatic's primary function is to permit live tracking through the app.  Unfortunately, it does not live track through their web portal, but does thru the phone app.  How are you trying to access this live tracking?

Thanks,
Bill

Hi (topic author) Bill - You'd need to download the Automatic app to a supported phone, create an account and then setup the Pro adapter in your teen's car with that phone. Anyone with a supported phone can install the app and use the same user account credentials to login and track the car in virtually real time from that app, regardless of where the phone is. Your teen can also download the app to their phone and login with the same account so they can get the benefit of some of the other features of Automatic like finding their parked car, sharing their parked location or live location with someone else for a limited time, entering their fuel fill-ups, etc.

In other words, one phone is needed for Setup. After that, anyone with the login credentials can install the app on their phone and login. Just be sure you're setting up in a compatible car and with supported phones

Only sends location data after car is parked.

Ok, thanks for clarifying where the confusion lies. When you see "Driving" at the top of your screen, you click that or the animation of the car as indicated in the annotated screenshot below. That will take you to a new screen where you'll see a map with your car moving on it. You can tap that map to open the map up to full screen and it will look like the MP4 video I linked above.

I just installed my pro yesterday but it's not showing real time and also only sends me notification when car is parked but the locations are missing.
The set up was easy and straight forward so I don't understand where the problem lies?

Hi Amir. You have something going on here that is specific to your account or car. I'm told there's already a support ticket with you that has been escalated to Tech Support. Someone will get back to you via email today. In the meantime, I'm going to remove your comments & large images here because they convolute & confuse this thread which was just a simple question. If you have a specific problem that you want to report in the community in the future, please create a new "Problem" topic or find one that already describes your same issue and chime in on that. Thanks.

I need a little clarifying. I set Automatic Pro up on my vehicle with my cell phone. The only way to track the location is the person driving the car has to have the app downloaded on their phone and has to be logged in? So what if their cell phone is dead, leave it at home etc...

No, the driver does not need to have the app on their phone or have their phone in the car. Once the adapter has been set up with our app on anyone's compatible phone, anyone can log into the app with those login credentials and view the car's live location no matter where they are or where the car is -- provided the car is within cellular range. If the car drives into an area not covered by the 3G cellular service, our adapter won't be able to transmit the data to our servers until it's back within cellular range. Our service is provided by Telefonica which uses AT&T and T-Mobile.

Here's an FAQ that might be helpful.
Hello, for some reason, I used to be able to click "driving" and I could watch the vehicle driving live. It no longer does that. It worked for weeks, now when I click "driving", it shows a world map. Can you help me, please?

Hi Francine, that's a known issue with the current version of the iOS app. Please see this topic for more details.
