Should Bluetooth on my phone be on even if it’s not in the car?

The Automatic Pro is plugged into my daughters car (very new driver), the app is installed on my iPhone so I know when she has safely arrived at her destination. I read other questions about the Bluetooth being on and it said “we use the phone’s GPS to update the adapter at the start of every trip where it’s available so it can lock in on GPS points sooner”. Does that still apply if my phone that has the app on it, is not actually in the car when it’s being driven or should I turn my Bluetooth off? Thank you!

No need for the Bluetooth with Automatic Pro, only for setup. I set up 2 of them on my account that are not my daily drivers and everything works perfectly. No need for your phone to have Bluetooth on or be in car. Maybe it improves functionality if cellular data is unavailable and GPS takes a moment, but mine has no problem locating itself quickly.
