Hello.

I have a 2010 Volvo C30, which has a feature called Stop Start. Meaning when I pull to a set of lights and remove my feet from the pedals, the engine goes off to reduce idling.

This is great for my MPG and effects on pollution, but my Automatic Gen 2 likes to make a new trip for each queue or set of lights I stop at for more than a few seconds.

While the app bundles them together, it means that I get 20 end of trip notices on my iPhone and apple watch each time I take a trip. Again, not a massive issue and I use the end trip for tagging work mileage, but is there not a way to make it so that it only stops a trip when I turn the engine off or some other marker which would prevent this little niggle?

BTW Love my automatic!

Hi Peter,Thank you for contacting us. Unfortunately, since the adapter turns off when the engine turns off, there isn't a workaround in this case other than turning off the notifications, which you are using so that won't work either. I wish I had better news!

That's not a problem.

Thanks for the reply.

I had a V40 with start-stop, which I attributed to the starter flywheel failing. So, my mechanic disabled it for me. And there was no discernable difference in my fuel economy ...

That's interesting, Ashok! Sadly, perhaps not all that surprising either.

Personally I do see a little increase in my urban MPG as mine stopped working for a while when I lost a cell in my main car battery.

But it is good when you are sat in traffic to know that it isn't spitting out as many emissions as others.

That's a good point, Peter. Fuel economy is just one benefit of that kind of car! :)

I switched to a hybrid for two reasons - reduce my carbon footprint & reduce emissions.
