Thoughts after using the product for a couple of months.

1. Users need some way of aggregating the data so that they can see trends in their driving behavior. Additional data visualizations showing weekly, monthly, and (eventually) annual trends for miles driven, speeding, hard starts and stops, driving score, etc. would be useful in determining if behaviors are changing.

2. Business users would benefit greatly from being able to tag certain trips as work related for use in IRS filings and/or expense reports. This data also needs to be exportable as an email attachment, preferably as a CSV file.

3. Integrations with the mapping system to determine speeding based on location as well as for fuel efficiency would be extremely handy especially when driving in an unfamiliar place with bad speed limit signage.

4. When users stop to fill up with gas, they should be able to enter the amount of fuel and the cost. This data could be used to track fuel consumption and alert users when significant deviations in fuel consumption were occurring alerting users to potential maintenance problems.

5. Similar to #4, an oil change button would be really handy. The user pushes the button to indicate they have changed the oil and then Automatic alerts them when they are 250 miles away from their next oil change. Same for tires and similar regularly scheduled maintenance items.

6. Automatic would be incredibly useful to parents if events like engine starting and shut off, speeding, texting while the car is moving, hard accelerations, and hard stops could trigger emails. This would also require a locked panel for parents to keep teenagers from changing settings.

The software seems very stable. Looking forward to some expanded functionality :)

Hi Peter,

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm going to point you to some individual Idea topics about each of them so you can add your vote there and chime in to expand on the ideas should you like to. It's easiest for us to track & update each respective Idea as a separate topic.

1. More data

2. Tracking trips for business purposes here and here.

3. Speeding based on location. Which we actually don't plan to do. We're not attempting to track whether or not someone is exceeding their local speed limit at any given time, we're attempting to help guide users to drive within a speed range that is more fuel efficient.

4. Enter your own fuel price at fill-up

5. Here's a topic about maintenance reminders, though your request to just indicate manually when you've had an oil change seems a bit different.

6. Teenage monitoring

7. "When the low fuel light comes on it would be very handy to have the app pull up a map with nearby gas stations." -- Perhaps add that as an additional feature on this Idea topic about an alert for miles left in your tank. Or this one about the app acting as a remote gas gauge.
