I've only been beta-testing Automatic for two days, but love it! Nevertheless, I've got a couple of ideas for you to consider for potential improvement in the App: 1) Can Automatic provide the user more of the car's status during the drive than merely the beeps for going too fast, or braking/accelerating too hard? I'm not sure what exact data is being communicated by the car through the data port during one's drive, but as an engineer and a "car person" I'd love to see more versus less data displayed; 2) When returning to the car after having parked Automatic retains the north-up orientation, and reveals whether the user is moving in the right direction by the user's location depicted as a blue dot moving closer relative to the auto's location. Personally, I would find the map more intuitive in me finding my car if the map's orientation was in the direction of my movement rather than north-up. Thanks, and keep up the great work!

Thanks for the suggestions and praise, Mark! I'll share these with our product team.

I agree with Mark on the granularity option. I know making "appley" apps means balancing data and simplicity, but having an "advanced option" that depicts considerably more data would be very cool.

I'm not too concerned about the direction of the map, but I know that the accuracy of the GPS marker is not the best (especially within 100 feet, give or take). It would be nice if the dongle broadcast a LE bluetooth signal when the car is within, say, 50 feet. Not sure if that's possible.

There are some pretty lively topics in here now that cover your two suggestions, Mark.
Real-time driving data
Map orientation
