RELEASE NOTES

iOS:

3.7
(released March 20, 2017)
This release is an update & bug fixes on iOS-only features

Rich Notifications! We’re talking Scrooge McDuck rich, folks.

  • Push notifications now have rich content that show you more without opening the app.

  • Press firmly on notifications (iPhone 6S & 7 w/ Automatic Pro only) to see things like a map of where you parked or even a live map of your car’s location

  • For the nerds in the audience, these are notification extensions and we’ve got’em everywhere!

Other Improvements
  • Fixed an annoying bug where tagging a trip as "business" would take you to the top of the trip list. Ugh, sorry about that.

  • We also fixed a rare bug in vehicle setup that could affect Bluetooth pairing. Our boss says Bluetooth pairs best with reds like Pinot Noir and Dolcetto, which are light-bodied but full of savory depth.

3.6
(released March 7, 2017)
✭ Car nicknames!
  • The Batmobile. KITT. Herbie. Without great names, these legends would just be cars. The new nickname feature lets you name your car and make it legendary. Just tap on Settings in the menu. And keep it under 50 characters, you crazy kids!

Other Improvements
  • Changes to your check engine light status now appear in your car’s timeline. Next up, relationship statuses! Just kidding. (requires firmware 1.3.14)

  • The Automatic widget can now show all of your cars at the same time. Just tap "show more".

  • Dude, where’s my car? The driving map is zoomed out a bit more by default so you can get a better sense of where it is.

  • The app launches a bit faster now.

  • Settings cells now show a preview for things like units and preferred fuel type. Our preferred fuel type is coffee.

  • The cheapest gas station map pins now appear on top of more expensive ones.

  • We’ve also made a bunch of other small UI improvements you probably won’t notice but make the overall experience better.

Android:

3.6.2 (released April 3, 2017)
  • Fixed a bug for Android 5 users that would cause the app to crash when viewing the trip list. Sorry about that, folks!

3.6.1
(released March 30, 2017)
This release is bug fixes & minor UI updates only

Improvements
  • Do you like user interfaces? We do, and this release has a bunch of improvements to make the UI prettier, more consistent, and all around better.

  • We also fixed a number of other little bugs you probably won’t notice but we care about a lot!

Nicknames is a cute addition but, your tweak to the map is now zoomed out too much.

So, am I the only one who believes the map is zoomed out too much now?

You're the only one who's reported it. Can you take a screenshot of what you're seeing?

Well, it seems that after "renaming" a few of my vehicles in the (iOS) app, it breaks that vehicle's IFTTT integration.

Anyone else seeing this?

Can you please describe what broke about your IFTTT integration? IFTTT events are unrelated to the nicknames as they're based on our backend vehicle ID and user ID.

The vehicles I've renamed just simply no longer show up in my IFTTT recipes output. I did have a large number of vehicles on my account tho, and just had a few removed today that has helped across the board with things. Let me do some more testing on this.

However, just to clear something up.... are you saying that the nicknames are not what will be sent as the vehicle identifier in IFTTT? IE, it will still be the "generic" pre-nickname car description name?

Hi Ted. Right, the nicknames won't appear in IFTTT.

I'm told that the nickname feature & renaming your vehicles in the app should have no impact on IFTTT recipe functionality. After you've done some more digging on this, please let us know if you're still having issues. It's likely there's something unrelated going on.
