Hello iOS users! v2.1.1 is a simple update and includes many bug fixes. This release also addresses many iOS 8 compatibility issues. We're still working on full iOS 8 support, but this release gets us closer!

Please note that it may take a while for the update to propagate to all users, and if you're unable to download the update now, it will appear very soon.

It appears I have the latest version of the app, but it is crashing like crazy in iOS 8 on my iPhone 5s. Very annoying.

This is just a minor update to the app, so unfortunately, there's no RTD at this time Robert. Once it's available, we'll be sure to update this topic.

Just a quick update for everyone. We have received some reports of v2.1.1 crashing when attempting to access/edit input fields throughout the app (when using iOS8). Our team is aware of the issue, and it will be addressed in the next release which will be available soon.

I've been getting a higher incidence of connection failures to Link since the update came through and even had a trip end while driving that was very odd - I posted the latter as a question.

Same here.  It's a crap shoot as to whether the app will connect with the Link on any given trip, and even if it does connect, many times it disconnects while driving.
Hope to see the fully functioning iOS 8 app some time soon.

So with the release of iOS 8 today, should we stay at 7.1.2 or upgrade to 8. I've got the latest version of your app, but the comments about gettting closer to full iOS 8 support concern me.

No problem, Robert. We've also confirmed another small bug. The app may crash when attempting to access/edit input fields throughout the app (this includes the vehicle nickname and license plate fields). This will be fixed in the upcoming release. 

I just updated to iOS 8 myself, but I haven't had much time to play around with it yet. I'm pretty excited to try out the new keyboard and iMessages functionalities.

OK, that one doesn't matter at this time for me either. As long as it captures trips and still worked with IFTTT to upload to google, that's what's important at this time. It appears to be working fine. It got all three trips (well stops) on the way home after I updated the phone at work.

Tom, to clarify:  The current version of the iOS Automatic app (as of 9/19) should be capturing trip information fine with iOS8?  Since I installed the update mine hasn't been able to establish a bluetooth connection to the device, but I've had that problem sporadically before and can try a few things to attempt to resolve it if it's supposed to be working.  This is on an iPhone 5, btw.

Hi there John. Yes, trip captures appear to be working fine with iOS 8, but that doesn't mean everyone is immune to the occasional hiccup ;) Tech support reviewed your account, and it looks like the app wasn't connecting to the internet (which in turn affected connectivity). Can you try to restart your phone, open the app, and unplug-replug Automatic before your next drive? Be sure to unplug-replug while your car's ignition is off.
