I have a Volkswagen Golf GTI 2017 – will it work with Automatic? I would assume so, but there are no 2017 Volkswagen cars listed on the compatibility page. Why is this? It would be shocking if Volkswagen was no longer supported from 2017 forward. Is there another explanation?

I am hoping to buy Automatic as a holiday gift and want to take advantage of the current sale, so hopefully someone can help clear this up swiftly. Thanks!

Here is the answer I got from customer support via email:

"Thank you for contacting us. The list may not list variants of a model but as long as the base model is supported, most variants will also be supported. Our database is updated periodically but with new cars coming out all the time, it may not be completely up to date. If you have a newer car that you don't see there, the general rule is—if the latest model year we list is supported, anything newer is likely to be supported."

Yes, that's accurate. But I'd add, as long as the sub-model doesn't mean it's an EV or plug-in Hybrid, which we don't support.
