We'd love to have you on board with Automatic, but there are some important things you should note first...

Automatic is officially supported for use in the United States only
. Using Automatic outside the U.S. is at your own risk. If you purchase Automatic and then try to use it outside the U.S. to find that it won't work, we can not process an international return. The Automatic Pro will not work at all outside the United States.

Most cars manufactured for sale in the U.S. since 1996 are compatible with Automatic, but there are some known limitations, so please check your car's compatibility here: automatic.com/cars
RVs are not supported with Automatic, even if they're based on a truck that shows up as supported in our car compatibility database.

Automatic Gen 1 & Gen 2, require our original Automatic iPhone or Android mobile apps which are supported on iPhone 5 and newer, running iOS 8 & up, and most, common Android phones* on 4.0 and above, though there are some known incompatible Android phones. Automatic is not supported on tablets or iPads.

Automatic Pro requires our Automatic Pro iPhone or Android mobile apps which are supported on iPhone 5 and newer, running iOS 9 & up, and most Android phones* on 5.0 and up.

Please see this FAQ for more info on phone compatibility.

Automatic Gen 1 & 2 require a Bluetooth connection with your phone and the Automatic service requires cellular connectivity from your phone.
Automatic Pro has a built-in 3G cellular connection and does not require a Bluetooth connection with your phone.

Once you have an adapter, you must first go through Setup with our app for it to work. Do not plug the adapter into the OBD-II port of your car until instructed to do so during Setup.
