Now available for iOS (and coming soon for Android), the Automatic app now plays a new audio tone at the start of each trip to let you know Automatic is connected and working properly. If Automatic can’t connect within the first minute of your drive, it’ll play a different “disconnection” tone to let you know something’s wrong.

If this happens, simply launching the Automatic app will fix the problem in most cases. Otherwise, the new Connection Troubleshooting Guide in the app Settings → Connection screen will tell you what to do.

This feature is turned on by default, and you can disable it by navigating to Settings → Audio Feedback → Connection. You might want to do this to prevent the disconnected tone from playing every time when someone who doesn’t use Automatic drives your car.

Important note: This feature requires firmware version (0.9.13) or above. If you have an older version of firmware, you will not see this feature in the app until firmware automatically updates. You can check which firmware version you have by scrolling to the bottom of Settings.
