Which of the two OBD ports should I plug the Automatic into in my Ford C-Max Hybrid?

My 2014 C-Max Hybrid SE has two OBD ports. It is my understanding that one port is for the engine and the other is for the battery maintenance system. My question is this: Do both ports provide the same information that the Automatic requires to work properly? Or only the port designated for the traditional gasoline engine?

No. It's just the standard model hybrid

Awesome, thanks Nick. Can you send us a photo of the two ports in your car? Our in-house technician wants to dig a little deeper on this one. Close up photos with a head-on view of the ports would be best.

Good morning, Tom. Here are the images you requested. The white port is to the left of the steering wheel in the usual spot for Ford cars. The black port is centered underneath of the steering wheel.

Hello again! First, our technician would like to say thanks for taking these photos and for posting this here in the community. We knew there were instances of two connectors existing in plug-ins, but this was the first we have seen with a standard hybrid.

So some clarification, while both of these ports appear to be "OBD-II ports," they are both technically J1962 connectors (which isn't the same thing as "OBD-II"). From these photos, only the white connector appears to be "OBD-II compliant." This is also the port that you've been plugging the adapter into, yes?

If you're willing to try it out, we're curious to know if the adapter beeps at all if you plug it into the other connector. We're not certain that this connector would even provide power to the adapter.

I actually have been using it in the other port since Sunday (for curiousity's sake). The data being relayed so far looks pretty reliable, although I still don't know if the Automatic can pull engine codes from that port. If you'd like, I would happily provide your team with some data from each port to compare (if you think it would help in your continuing development of the device, apps, and service).
