Hello, community.

Regarding the Automatic Pro, assuming there is full GPS and cell coverage, will my car detect that it is being towed?

Even more basic of a question, will my car detect a change in location without the ignition turned?

Thank you,
awwtbone

No. The GPS and cellular modem only function while the car is turned on. I'm guessing this is to prevent depleting your battery duribg long stays. The unit uses more power than a dome light being left on would, and many of us have come back to a dead battery after a weekend of powering the dome light :)

Packet Guy is right, Alec. The 3G only tracks your car's location when the ignition is on. Once it turns off, it infers the parked location of your car based on where it was when the last trip ended.
